Japanese capsule toy brand AMUSE is serving up a creative new stationery item: the “Sushi Futomaki Pencil Case.” Inspired by the thick sushi rolls found in Japanese cuisine, this playful case lets you arrange pens, pencils, and other stationery like fillings before rolling everything up sushi-style. The finished roll looks almost good enough to eat. The collection is scheduled for release in February 2027 at 300 yen per play.
The pencil case turns packing up your stationery into a sushi-making session. Simply place a few pens or pencils on the open case, then roll it up to create a plump piece of futomaki. The lineup includes four designs: “Tamago Roll,” “Futomaki,” “Red Vinegar Rice Roll,” and “California Roll.” Each features its own sushi-inspired colors and appearance. Once rolled, it fits neatly into your bag—and when you pull it out, everyone may think you brought sushi as a snack.
