World-renowned Hong Kong collectible maker Hot Toys has unveiled a massive new addition to its premium Sofvi Masterpiece Series (SMS): the Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure from "Avengers: Doomsday." Priced at HK$2,030, the figure is expected to ship between Q3 and Q4 2027.
The Sentinels first appeared in 1965’s "Uncanny X-Men" #14. Developed by Trask Industries to detect mutant genes and eliminate mutants, these towering machines have repeatedly pushed the X-Men to the brink with their overwhelming numbers and formidable combat and surveillance capabilities. Sentinels also appear at the end of the recently released "Avengers: Doomsday" trailer, making their role in the upcoming movie even more intriguing.
Standing approximately 60cm tall, this massive Soft Vinyl figure recreates the Sentinel design seen in the trailer, which pays tribute to the robot’s classic comic-book appearance. Intricate sculpting and premium metallic purple and metallic gray paint applications pair perfectly with the distinctive texture of the vinyl construction. The figure features 18 points of articulation across the head, upper arms, elbows, wrists, chest, thighs, and knees. Six interchangeable hands provide plenty of options for creating imposing action poses.
The figure also includes interchangeable face armor and chest armor, allowing collectors to switch between a pristine standard appearance and a battle-damaged look. The face armor can be removed completely to reveal the internal mechanical detailing underneath. LED-equipped eyes offer switchable green and orange lighting effects, recreating the Sentinel’s active scanning and extermination modes. Also included is an approximately 11cm-tall miniature Doctor Doom figure posed with both arms extended, along with a rocky terrain-themed mini display base. Together, they recreate the powerful trailer scene of Doctor Doom awakening the Sentinel.
