To celebrate the Pokemon franchise’s 30th anniversary, Pokémon Center has announced a collaboration with American instrument brand Fender featuring electric guitars inspired by the original games, "Pokemon Red Version and Pokemon Green Version." Built around Fender’s classic Stratocaster and Telecaster designs, the two models will be offered through a lottery sale on the Pokémon Center Online store in Japan.
The collaboration draws from the visuals of 1996’s "Pokemon Red Version and Pokemon Green Version," covering each guitar body in nostalgic pixel artwork. The pickguards feature a special fluorescent finish that shifts with the viewing angle, while the neck plates are engraved with an exclusive pixel-style 30th-anniversary logo.
The throwback treatment goes beyond the visuals. Pressing the volume knob blends an 8-bit electronic effect into the guitar’s regular sound, recreating the familiar retro audio of the original Pokemon games while players perform.
Each guitar also includes an original pick set, a specially illustrated certificate of authenticity, and a dedicated hard-shell case. Referencing the experience of choosing a first partner in "Pokemon Red Version and Pokemon Green Version," the company invites players to pick one of the two guitar styles as the companion for their musical journey.
Lottery entries for both guitars will be accepted through the Pokémon Center Online store in Japan from 12:00 p.m. JST on November 19, 2026, through 4:59 p.m. JST on November 24, 2026. Participants must register and sign in to a member account and complete phone-number verification. Lottery results and further details will be announced separately.
