TYPE-MOON, the studio behind the games and anime adaptations of Tsukihime and the Fate series, announced back in 2021 that its visual novel Witch on the Holy Night was getting an anime film. That movie is now set to open in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026.
With the film just weeks away, the official team announced on November 3 that Witch on the Holy Night is also getting a serialized manga adaptation. Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie creator Keigo Maki will handle the artwork, with the series launching in Issue 50 of Weekly Shonen Magazine, on sale November 11, 2026.

Witch on the Holy Night, known in Japanese as Mahoutsukai no Yoru, is a visual novel developed and published by TYPE-MOON. The story originated as an unpublished and unfinished work written by Kinoko Nasu after Tsukihime. Nasu later completed it with encouragement from Takashi Takeuchi. Chronologically, it is also one of the earliest stories in TYPE-MOON's shared universe.
The visual novel was released in 2012, followed years later by a remastered edition. Its anime film adaptation will finally hit theaters in 2026.

The biggest surprise is the choice of Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie creator Keigo Maki as the manga's artist. Maki's distinctive approach to female characters feels like a particularly strong match for Witch on the Holy Night heroines Aoko Aozaki and Alice Kuonji.

The official Weekly Shonen Magazine YouTube channel, Magazine Channel, has also released a promotional video for the new series. The video features Haruka Tomatsu, the voice of Aoko Aozaki, and Yusuke Kobayashi, who voices Soujyuro Sizuki.
After all these years, Witch on the Holy Night is not only getting an anime film but a full manga serialization as well. For longtime fans, that is one seriously welcome double feature.
