With Fans!, a figure brand collaboration between Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY and BANDAI NAMCO Arts, is set to release a dream product based on the popular sci-fi anime film 'Ghost in the Shell': the Motoko Kusanagi 1/4 Scale Figure, meticulously recreating a classic scene! Priced at 107,800 JPY, it is scheduled for release in March 2022.
'Ghost in the Shell' is a cyberpunk sci-fi manga series by Japanese manga artist Masamune Shirow, which began serialization in 1989. The animated film adaptation, 'Ghost in the Shell,' premiered in 1995, directed by Mamoru Oshii and written by Kazunori Ito, marking the first animated work in the series. The story is set in a high-tech future of 2029, where the protagonist, Motoko Kusanagi, is a full-body cyborg. In an era teeming with cyborgs, electronic crime is rampant, prompting the Japanese government to establish 'Public Security Section 9' to combat such criminal methods. As a member of Public Security Section 9, Motoko simultaneously carries out her missions and endeavors to explore the meaning of her own existence.
