Aniplex's popular BUZZmod. action figure line is expanding its "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" series with the highly anticipated release of the BUZZmod. Akaza 1/12 scale action figure. This latest addition follows previous fan-favorite figures including Kamado Tanjiro, Kamado Nezuko, Agatsuma Zenitsu, Rengoku Kyojuro, and Hashibira Inosuke. The figure is priced at 9,300 JPY and is slated for release in July 2022.
Akaza, the Upper Rank Three of the Twelve Kizuki (and formerly Upper Rank Two), is a formidable demon obsessed with combat. In his human life, he relentlessly trained to protect his beloved family and fiancée. After his transformation into a demon and subsequent memory loss, he was left with an insatiable drive to become stronger, revering the powerful, despising the weak, and constantly seeking out formidable opponents to test his might.
The "BUZZmod. Akaza" figure stands approximately 15 cm tall at 1/12 scale, meticulously sculpted to capture his muscular physique. It faithfully reproduces Akaza's distinctive peach-pink short hair, piercing golden eyes, and eerie pale skin tone. His entire body is adorned with deep blue tattoos, symbolizing his past as a criminal. Even intricate details like his blood-red fingernails and the prayer beads on his ankles are carefully recreated. The figure boasts excellent articulation, ensuring both aesthetic integrity and a wide range of dynamic poses.
Included with the figure are four interchangeable face plates: a standard expression, a sneering face, a downcast gaze, and an enraged gritting teeth expression. Additional accessories feature the "Destructive Kill: Compass" display base and effect parts designed to enhance his powerful punching and kicking poses. Interestingly, the signature BUZZmod. fabric clothing is quite minimal on this particular release!
