Japanese toy company Qualia, renowned for its quirky and fun creations, is once again tapping into the popular cat theme. This time, they're launching the "Neko Jidaigeki Zokei Collection" capsule toy series, blending traditional Japanese aesthetics. The collection features five distinct designs, with each capsule priced at 300 JPY, slated for release in November 2021.
Qualia is once again collaborating with Japanese sculptor Sanjyo Shishi (@sanjyousisi). Moving away from their previous Buddhist-themed "Neko Nyorai" and "Neko Shinsho" series, this new collection dives into the world of Japanese historical period dramas. It introduces five captivating characters: the Cat Ronin, Cat Wanderer, Cat Boss, Cat Blind Swordsman, and Cat Traveler. Sanjyo Shishi's signature intricate design style shines through, with traditional attire, prop swords, and even pipes meticulously sculpted despite the capsule toy's small scale. Coupled with vibrant paint applications and fierce, expressive eyes, these figures are ready to stage their own lively feline mini-dramas!
