Renowned Japanese toy company TakaraTomy's popular capsule toy brand, T-ARTS, is set to release its latest "JAWS Figure Collection" capsule toys, themed after the classic thriller film "Jaws." The collection features four different designs, each priced at 400 JPY (MSRP), and is scheduled for release in December 2021.
The classic American thriller "Jaws," a landmark in cinematic history, premiered in 1975. Directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Peter Benchley's novel of the same name, the plot follows Police Chief Martin Brody, Dr. Matt Hooper, and Captain Quint as they battle a massive man-eating great white shark terrorizing a resort town's waters, all to protect the safety of the beaches. (Note: In reality, unprovoked shark attacks on humans are extremely rare.)
The film is widely considered the progenitor of the modern "blockbuster," establishing the global formula for mainstream commercial cinema: abundant special effects, screams and explosions, thrilling action sequences, and a summer release date!
The "T-ARTS JAWS Figure Collection" capsule toys bring key cinematic moments to life in capsule toy form, ranging from 5 to 11 cm in size. This includes the iconic image of the shark approaching from the surface and the Great White lurking underwater, which can be combined to recreate the classic movie poster scene!
