Following the highly popular 1/1 scale busts of fan-favorite twins Rem and Ram from "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World," Japanese prize figure and high-quality scale figure manufacturer Furyu (FURYU Corporation), under their F:NEX brand, has unveiled their next surprising release: not the heroine Emilia, but a "Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti Life-Size Bust"?! Priced at an astonishing 294,800 JPY, this piece is slated for an August 2022 release.
Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti, the Sin Archbishop of Sloth for the Witch's Cult, was originally named Geuse. A century ago, he was a gentle and refined earth-attribute demi-human who fell in love with Emilia's foster mother, Fortuna, and together they cared for a young Emilia. However, during an attack on the elves by Pandora, Geuse's attempt to fight back led to the Witch Factor of Sloth running wild, causing him to accidentally kill Fortuna. Upon regaining consciousness, his mind shattered, transforming him into the madman we know today, brainwashed into becoming a Sin Archbishop of the New Witch's Cult.
The F:NEX "Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti Life-Size Bust" not only boasts an astounding price tag but also an imposing height of 88 cm. This 1/1 scale rendition perfectly captures the Sin Archbishop of Sloth, complete with his bizarre, wide-eyed stare and distinctive green bowl cut. Every detail is meticulously reproduced, from his emotionless, eerie gaze and maniacal grin to the bony texture of his fingertips, the pallor of his green skin, and the intricate wrinkles and fabric texture of his attire. Who wouldn't want the Sin Archbishop of Sloth's "ultimate smile" (?) staring wide-eyed at them from their room?
