Renowned Japanese toy company Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. (T-ARTS), a top-selling capsule toy brand, is launching a new articulated "Giant Flowers and Carnivorous Plants" capsule toy series. Featuring four unique designs, each capsule will retail for 300 JPY and is slated for release in late December 2021!
T-ARTS' "Asoberu Seibutsu Figure Series" (Playable Creature Figure Series) is dedicated to realistically recreating and introducing the ecology of plants and insects. This latest installment spotlights the world's largest and arguably most malodorous flower, the Rafflesia, alongside the fascinating carnivorous Nepenthes. Ranging from approximately 9 to 11.5 cm in size, these figures meticulously capture the plants' distinctive features. The Rafflesia comes in two color variations, A and B, faithfully reproducing its vibrant, massive, and peculiar form. Its five petals are designed to open and close, and each figure includes a fly accessory, drawn in by the flower's infamous putrid scent!

The Nepenthes also comes in two color schemes: a solid color and a patterned version. These figures accurately replicate the plant's unique pitcher-shaped traps, with an articulated lid on top. The tendril at the end of the leaf is even shaped like a hook, allowing collectors to hang the figure and display the Nepenthes in its natural growing posture. Each Nepenthes figure also includes a small gray or yellow mouse accessory, depicting the plant's ability to trap small animals.
