LEGO fans, do you remember the "Sonic The Hedgehog" themed creation by LEGO fan toastergrl that garnered 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas platform? After the confirmation of its commercialization, LEGO finally officially unveiled the detailed product information for the "21331 Sonic The Hedgehog" set yesterday (December 28), slated for release on January 1, 2022.

The "LEGO 21331 Sonic The Hedgehog" set comprises 1125 pieces and is the 39th entry in the Ideas series. Based on original designer Viv Grannell's concept, it recreates one of the most iconic stages from the "Sonic The Hedgehog" video game: the Green Hill Zone. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 17 cm tall and measures 36 cm long. Beyond using varying shades of green and brown to construct pixel-style grass, land, and palm trees, transparent elements are cleverly utilized to depict rings floating in the air, making it feel as if a video game screen has come to life!
After building the exquisite scene, collectors can further enhance it with rich in-game elements like springs, TV monitors, and the life counter display located at the bottom left of the stage. The set includes a Sonic the Hedgehog minifigure, along with brick-built versions of the Moto Bug (featuring two face options), Crabmeat, and Dr. Eggman. This is truly an excellent set! We're super hopeful for future stage expansions and more characters.
