LEGO's "BrickHeadz" series, known for its chibi-style proportions and adorable oversized heads, recently unveiled three new sets based on popular IPs. These include the "40549 Demogorgon & Eleven", "40553 Woody & Bo Peep", and "40559 Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote"! All three are slated for release on February 1, 2022.
LEGO 40549 Demogorgon & Eleven
MSRP: US$19.99, Piece Count: 192, Release Date: February 1, 2022
First up is the inaugural BrickHeadz entry for "Stranger Things," marking a new set following the 75810 The Upside Down. The mysterious girl, Eleven, is depicted in her Season 1 shaved head look, even holding a waffle piece in her hand. The Demogorgon faithfully recreates its terrifying open-headed appearance, and the abdominal bone detailing is also quite interesting.
LEGO 40553 Woody & Bo Peep
MSRP: US$19.99, Piece Count: 296, Release Date: February 1, 2022
Next, we have Sheriff Woody and Bo Peep from the classic animated film "Toy Story." The unique BrickHeadz proportions perfectly capture the essence of both characters, including their cowboy hat, bow, and other distinctive features. The set also includes lasso and shepherd's crook pieces. And don't forget, Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear is also available to complete your collection!
LEGO 40559 Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote
MSRP: US$19.99, Piece Count: 205, Release Date: February 1, 2022
Finally, we have the "Road Runner" and "Wile E. Coyote" duo from the "Looney Tunes" animated series. While Road Runner's signature long neck is significantly shortened in its BrickHeadz rendition, the overall design is incredibly cute. The head and tail feathers are well-defined using curved bricks, creating excellent contours. However, this editor personally feels Wile E. Coyote's BrickHeadz isn't as immediately recognizable; without Road Runner by his side, it might be hard to tell who he is.
