TAMASHII NATIONS, Bandai Spirits' collector's toy division, today announced the latest addition to their popular die-cast toy "METAL BUILD" series: the "Sniper Pack" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY," scheduled for release in June 2022. Pre-orders for this item are set to open on Premium Bandai (Tamashii Web Shop) starting January 21, 2022.
In the original "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY" series, the Sniper Pack was an expansion armament utilized by the Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second G. It featured a relatively simple design, equipped with a high-precision targeting device and a long-barrel sniper rifle. However, for the METAL BUILD version, the Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second Revise serves as the base mobile suit, and the backpack's design has undergone a thorough customization, incorporating distinct wing-like elements. It boasts a large, hood-style targeting device, and the rifle's barrel strikingly resembles a railgun. The backpack itself is even capable of independent flight.
The "METAL BUILD Sniper Pack" faithfully recreates the redesigned Sniper Pack's form with the series' signature intricate detailing. It features rich coloring and extensive body markings, while the large, hood-style targeting device is reproduced using clear parts. The substantial rifle connects to the backpack via a movable arm, and pistol armaments for close-quarters defense are also included.
Furthermore, this backpack is part of the original MSV project, "METAL BUILD ALTERNATIVE STRIKE." It can be equipped on various METAL BUILD series mobile suits, such as the Strike Gundam and Astray Gundam, and can even combine with the previously announced Lohengrin Launcher!
