The HMM (Highend Master Model) series of model kits from Japan's KOTOBUKIYA, based on the "ZOIDS" franchise, has garnered immense popularity among fans for its high precision and intricate part separation. In May 2022, the series is set to re-release its very first product, the "Shield Liger" (シールドライガー), in a new Marking Plus Ver.!
In the lore of "ZOIDS," the Shield Liger (シールドライガー) is a high-speed, lion-type Zoid developed by the Helic Republic. It was created to counter the Zenebas Empire's Saber Tiger (サーベルタイガー). Known for its lightweight design, it's considered a fundamental Zoid that has spawned numerous successor and enhanced models, earning it the moniker "Blue Lightning" (青いイナズマ).
This latest Shield Liger release updates the original HMM prototype with brand-new molded colors for both its exterior and interior. It also includes additional detail decals and offers collectors a choice between two cockpit canopy parts: a standard one and a clear, colorless option. This new version is perfect for fans nostalgic for the series' inaugural release or those who missed out on it the first time around!
