US brand Espada Art, known for its Japanese anime statues, is set to release its latest product based on the popular anime "Mob Psycho 100": the "Shigeo Kageyama - Mob" 1/8 scale Limited Edition Statue (Mob Limited Edition Statue). Priced at $175 USD, this statue is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide and is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2023.
From Japanese web manga artist ONE, "Mob Psycho 100" (モブサイコ100) tells the story of Shigeo Kageyama, an ordinary-looking middle schooler who is, in fact, a powerful psychic. Due to his unremarkable presence, he's often called "Mob" by those around him. Under the guidance of his mentor and boss, Reigen Arataka, Mob begins working as an exorcist while trying to coexist with his immense psychic abilities. However, his master, Reigen, despite claiming to be a spirit medium, is actually an ordinary person with no psychic powers, running his "Spirits and Such Consultation Office" through various cons and clever rhetoric.
The Espada Art "Mob" 1/8 scale Limited Edition Statue stands approximately 30 cm (11 inches) tall, faithfully recreating Shigeo Kageyama's signature bowl cut and his powerful "???%" state, where his psychic abilities far exceed 100%! The dynamic pose is complemented by a magnificent translucent material, forming a purple-blue gradient psychic energy field that radiates an overwhelming aura of power. Additionally, an alternate head sculpt featuring his normal, calm expression is included, offering a striking contrast.
