Bandai Spirits' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's division today announced the upcoming release of the "ROBOT SPIRITS Mass Production Guntank ver. A.N.I.M.E." from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team," slated for July 2022.
The RX-75 Mass Production Guntank is a redesigned mobile suit based on the V Project's prototype Guntank, omitting the Core Fighter system. Its shoulder-mounted cannons are significantly larger, boasting enhanced power and range, while a new automatic loading mechanism on its back improves reloading speed. Although the upper body gained the ability to rotate, the absence of the Core Fighter system made pilot escape difficult if the unit was attacked.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS Mass Production Guntank ver. A.N.I.M.E." meticulously recreates the distinctive large communication antenna on its head and the even larger cannons on its shoulders. Furthermore, the automatic loading mechanism on its back features a deployable gimmick.
For articulation, the base of the 120mm low-recoil cannons can pivot up, down, left, and right, and the automatic loading mechanism includes movable mechanical arms. A ball joint in the chest and waist allows the upper body to lean forward, while the bases of the two side wheels and the soft vinyl tracks can rotate forwards and backward.
Additionally, the figure comes with effect parts for both the 120mm low-recoil cannon and the 4-barrel rapid-fire cannon, allowing collectors to pose it in dynamic combat stances. Fans can even recreate the iconic scene from Episode 10 where it's ambushed by Norris Packard's Gouf Custom!
