Renowned Japanese statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio is set to release a colossal collectible statue of the Decepticon leader, Megatron, from the original animated series "Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy." This impressive piece is scheduled for release between May and August 2023.
For many long-time fans, nothing quite captures the magic like the original "Transformers" cartoon they grew up watching after school. While modern CG films offer cutting-edge effects and designs, the classic animated aesthetics hold an unparalleled place in the hearts of veteran collectors.
This enduring appeal is precisely why Netflix greenlit the "Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy"—comprising "Siege," "Earthrise," and "Kingdom." Utilizing CGI, the series reinterprets the classic animated Transformers, bringing back familiar characters with their iconic, simple yet cool designs, enhanced by new weapons and transformation sequences. The accompanying toy lines have been incredibly popular, sparking nostalgia and driving strong sales.
This Prime 1 Studio "Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy" Megatron statue captures the G1-era design most familiar to animation fans. Megatron wields a greatsword in his left hand, a weapon seen in the animated series, while his right arm is equipped with his iconic Fusion Cannon. The intricately designed base is a standout feature, with Megatron triumphantly standing atop the defeated Omega Supreme, whose shattered faceplate further amplifies Megatron's formidable and dominating presence.
Standing approximately 72 cm tall, this statue boasts a wealth of accessories. The right arm, equipped with the Fusion Cannon, includes two interchangeable options: a standard pose and a firing pose. For the left hand, three interchangeable parts are provided, featuring two different clenched fist poses and the impressive greatsword. Furthermore, LED light-up functions are integrated into Megatron's eyes, the Fusion Cannon's muzzle, and Omega Supreme's eyes, enhancing the overall dynamic and lifelike presentation.
