From EVA GLOBAL, the worldwide brand operating under the official "EVANGELION STORE," comes a highly anticipated new release: ALTER has officially unveiled the painted prototype for their "Ayanami Rei (Provisional Name) Millennials Illust Ver." 1/7 scale figure! This stunning collectible brings to life the cover illustration drawn by popular Japanese artist Mai Yoneyama for "EVANGELION Millennials2." The prototype was first revealed today (the 7th) and is scheduled for display at the Eva Store Ikebukuro in Japan on February 16, 2022.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of "RADIO EVA," the lifestyle brand for "Neon Genesis Evangelion," official channels commissioned popular Japanese artist Mai Yoneyama to create commemorative main visual illustrations featuring the five main characters. These designs embody the brand's concept of "EVA integrated into daily life," dressing the characters in stylish, casual attire.
Following the success of the first volume, the deluxe bonus book "EVANGELION Millennials2" once again features a cover illustration by the acclaimed Mai Yoneyama. This time, the main visual focuses on Ayanami Rei (Provisional Name) in a black plugsuit, her slender physique complemented by a loose-fitting hoodie. The illustration perfectly captures her characteristic emotionless demeanor, exuding her unique quiet charm!
ALTER first generated buzz when they showcased the unpainted prototype at the MEGAHOBBY EXPO 2021 ONLINE. Now, with the unveiling of the painted version, the "Ayanami Rei (Provisional Name) Millennials Illust Ver." 1/7 scale figure stands approximately 22 cm tall. It meticulously recreates every detail from the original illustration, enhanced by a high-quality paint application that imbues the entire piece with Ayanami's signature ethereal transparency. From the delicate folds in her clothing to her nuanced expression, every element is flawlessly reproduced!
