Based on Stephen King's Classic Novel
The team behind the hit thriller "The Invisible Man" reimagines horror master Stephen King's iconic story. It follows a young girl with extraordinary pyrokinetic powers as she fights to protect herself and her family from a shadowy organization determined to capture and control her.

For over a decade, parents Andy (Zac Efron, "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile," "The Greatest Showman") and Vicky (Sydney Lemmon, "Fear the Walking Dead," "Succession") have been on the run with their daughter Charlie (Ryan Kiera Armstrong, "American Horror Story: Double Feature," "The Tomorrow War"), evading a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness Charlie’s pyrokinetic abilities as a weapon of mass destruction.
Andy has taught Charlie how to control her pyrokinetic power, which is often triggered by anger or pain. However, as Charlie turns 11, her abilities become increasingly difficult to manage. After an incident reveals their location, a mysterious operative (Michael Greyeyes, "Wild Indian," "Rutherford Falls") is dispatched to hunt down the family and capture Charlie, but the young girl has other plans.

The film's robust cast also features Kurtwood Smith ("Amityville II: The Possession," "Hitchcock"), John Beasley ("The Purge: Anarchy," "The Sum of All Fears"), and Gloria Reuben ("Lincoln," "Mr. Robot"). The score for "Firestarter" is a collaborative effort by legendary horror director John Carpenter ("Halloween," "Christine," "The Fog") and "Halloween" film series composers Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.
"Firestarter" is directed by Keith Thomas ("The Vigil") and written by Scott Teems ("Halloween Kills"), adapted from Stephen King's classic novel. The film is produced by Jason Blum ("Halloween," "The Invisible Man") for Blumhouse Productions and Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman ("I Am Legend," "Constantine") for Weed Road Pictures. Executive producers include Ryan Turek, Greg Lessans, Scott Teems, Martha De Laurentiis, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules.
