Hot Toys, the Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer, today (the 13th) announced their latest 1/6 scale collectible figure: "Luke Skywalker (Bespin)" from "Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back". Both a regular edition and a deluxe edition will be released simultaneously. This article focuses on the DX24 regular edition, which is expected to ship in Q3–Q4 2023.
Even before completing his training with Yoda, Luke Skywalker journeyed from Dagobah to Bespin's Cloud City to rescue his friends, ultimately engaging in a deadly duel with Darth Vader. His tan flight suit from this sequence has become one of his most iconic looks. This figure stands approximately 28 cm tall and boasts 30 points of articulation. The Cloud City outfit is meticulously tailored to film specifications, with faithful reproductions of details such as the pocket stitching, the leather texture of the belt and pouches, the lightsaber hilt hanging at his waist, and the weathered scuffs on his long boots. The head sculpt features rolling eyeballs for dynamic posing, and two sculpted brown hair pieces offer enhanced display versatility.
Accessories include a blaster pistol, a lightsaber hilt integrated with the right wrist featuring a light-up function, a standalone lightsaber hilt, blue lightsaber blades for both static and motion effects, multiple interchangeable hands, and a specially designed display base inspired by the Cloud City carbon-freezing chamber.
