Aniplex Japan today announced the upcoming release of their latest figure, the "Tanjiro Kamado Full Focus Color Ver. 1/8 Scale Figure," from the popular manga series "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba." This figure is slated for a January 2023 launch and will be sold exclusively through the ANIPLEX+ online store.
This new release is a modified version of the "Tanjiro Kamado 1/8 Scale Figure [Deluxe Edition]," originally released in 2020. Sculpted by PINPOINT Co., Ltd., the figure captures Tanjiro in the midst of performing Water Breathing Tenth Form: "Constant Flux." The intricate folds of his hair, haori, and entire outfit are dynamically sculpted, alongside the impressive water dragon effect parts for "Constant Flux," perfectly recreating the powerful moment he unleashes the technique.
What sets this "Full Focus Color Ver." apart from previous iterations is its unique 2D paint application technique. This method employs distinct outline shading and entirely low-gloss paints, utilizing color blocks to depict wrinkles, highlights, and shadows. The result is a stunning, flat illustration-like aesthetic from every viewing angle. However, due to the increased painting costs, the figure's price has risen to 23,000 JPY, up from the previous version's 18,000 JPY.
