Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, THE GUNDAM BASE, announced today that its latest in-store exclusive item, the "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam [Gundam Base Color]," is set to release on May 3, 2022.
Designed for builders aged 8 and up, the "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam" kit features an intuitive runner layout with parts arranged sequentially from head to toe. Its innovative gate design allows for easy, tool-free removal of parts by hand, ensuring a smooth and safe assembly experience. Despite its low part count, the kit boasts five distinct molded colors, excellent part separation, and well-engineered joint designs. This allows for simple assembly without the need for paint, faithfully recreating the RX-78-2 Gundam's iconic colors. Furthermore, the waist and leg articulation are remarkably impressive.
This limited edition version features a striking color scheme that mirrors THE GUNDAM BASE's logo, combining white and dark blue molded parts. It also includes a special THE GUNDAM BASE logo sticker, making it not only visually appealing but also a valuable commemorative piece.
