Bandai Candy, Bandai's Shokugan division, today announced the latest addition to its popular "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" Shokugan series. Following the release of the Kämpfer, fans can now look forward to the "Prototype Kämpfer" from "Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket MSV," scheduled for an August 2022 release.
The YMS-18 Prototype Kämpfer is an early development model of the MS-18E Kämpfer. Beyond its distinctive green color scheme, it features numerous exterior armor differences on its upper body and outer calf sections compared to the standard Kämpfer. Its arsenal includes a dedicated shotgun, Giant Bazooka II, Beam Saber, Sturm Faust, and a large heavy machine gun. While this mobile suit never appeared in the anime, it has been featured in the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam École du Ciel" and the game "Mobile Suit Gundam Online."
The "G-FRAME FA Prototype Kämpfer" is based on the previously released Kämpfer body. It meticulously recreates the Prototype Kämpfer's unique design with numerous new armor parts and a fresh green molded color. The figure boasts high-density detailing and includes two interchangeable rear skirt armor parts, allowing collectors to display it in either its original design draft appearance or its manga/game version. In addition to the dedicated shotgun, Giant Bazooka, Beam Saber, and Sturm Faust previously included with the EX01 Kämpfer, this release further adds the "large heavy machine gun" seen in the manga and games.
