Japanese capsule toy maker Qualia is set to release a new addition to its popular "Pen Holder" series in June 2022: the "Odd Taxi Pen Holder" capsule toy, featuring characters from the hit TV anime "Odd Taxi"!
The highly popular 2021 anime "Odd Taxi" centers on Odokawa, a walrus taxi driver. The story kicks off with his taxi and the disappearance of a high school girl in Nerima Ward. Through Odokawa's conversations with various passengers, viewers gradually uncover the layers of this mysterious, reclusive, sharp-tongued, yet surprisingly compassionate 41-year-old walrus.
This "Odd Taxi Pen Holder" capsule toy series reimagines the show's characters as pen stands, each striking a pose with raised hands, all within an approximate 6.5 cm size. The figures faithfully reproduce their distinctive features and outfits. There are six designs to collect, including the protagonist taxi driver Odokawa, the small-time gangster Dobu, members of the three-person idol group "Mystery Kiss" — Rui Nikaido, Shiho Ichimura, and Yuki Mitsuya — as well as Mystery Kiss's manager, Yamamoto. Qualia's official product video showcases the impressive craftsmanship, making us eager for even more characters to be released!
▼ Shiho Ichimura and Yuki Mitsuya appear in their unmasked forms.
