Malaysian creative team 1000Tentacles Studio, known for their love of monster themes and unique artistic style, is expanding their "Wildthings" sofubi series. Following the release of "Tiger Head Mark," "Blade Wolf", and "Fang Wolf," they're now introducing a new character named "Mad Rabbit"! Pre-orders are set to open on May 7, 2022.
1000Tentacles Studio's creations are characterized by imaginative story settings and impactful visual aesthetics. The irregular forms of their monsters allow collectors' imaginations to run wild. Whether it's a boy bitten by a fish and undergoing mutation, a cat monster growing thick fur, a girl who can see clearly at night, or various other creatures, there always seems to be a hint of unconventional cuteness peeking through their seemingly terrifying exteriors! The "Wildthings" series, in particular, reinterprets animals with 1000Tentacles' signature design style, incorporating combat elements into this new line.
In 1000Tentacles' comic story "Carrot Revenge," "Mad Rabbit" witnessed its family, with whom it shared a close bond, brutally murdered by "Fang Wolf" during its youth. Twelve years later, it reappeared as an assassin, stealthily approaching Fang Wolf. Using a poisoned blow dart to paralyze its target, "Mad Rabbit" then carved the mark of its hatred deeply into Fang Wolf with a machete.
This "Mad Rabbit" sofubi figure continues to showcase 1000Tentacles' distinctive design aesthetic. However, compared to the ferocious tigers and wolves released previously, this normally docile rabbit, reinterpreted by designer Leong WanKok, manages to exude a berserk, deranged aura despite its chibi proportions. Beyond its wide, staring eyes and sharp teeth, the wounds on its long ears further enhance "Mad Rabbit's" intensity and ferocity. With its rich detailing, this is another truly collectible piece!
