Banpresto, a prize figure brand under Bandai Spirits Japan, is set to release the first wave of figures based on the "ONE PIECE FILM RED" movie in August 2022! These new additions to the World Collectable Figure (WCF) series are known for their super-deformed (SD) renditions of various anime and manga characters.
As seen in the previously released official character posters for "ONE PIECE FILM RED," the Straw Hat Pirates are sporting flamboyant outfits that blend medieval Western aesthetics with classic pirate styles. Luffy, Sanji, Chopper, Nami, and Robin are all depicted with prominent swords. These elaborate battle costumes, reinterpreted in the WCF series' signature chibi proportions, pack an impressive amount of detail into their miniature size, making them incredibly satisfying to look at! This first volume includes Luffy, Sanji, Chopper, Franky, and the world-famous diva Uta (ウタ), rumored to be Shanks' daughter!
Chopper, with his oversized sword and giant pirate hat, is absolutely adorable. Franky, who I personally think looks hilariously like a villain's minion, faithfully recreates his spiky hairstyle and shoulder armor, giving him a strong presence. Uta, with her dual-toned red and light pink hair, even features two-tone wings on her back. We can't wait to see the rest of the Straw Hat crew join the lineup!
