Bandai's Gashapon division in Japan, renowned for its high-quality "Gasha Portraits PREMIUM" series featuring popular anime female characters, is once again diving into the "Rebuild of Evangelion" universe. Following previous releases like Rei Ayanami and Sakura Suzuhara, the line is set to launch the "GashaPortraits PREMIUM Evangelion Shikinami Asuka Langley" figures. These figures will come in two distinct variations and are slated for a September 2022 release.
The "GashaPortraits PREMIUM Evangelion Shikinami Asuka Langley" figures capture Asuka in her iconic, ultra-form-fitting test plugsuit, as seen during the EVA Unit-03 test sequence in "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance." These premium figures boast a more luxurious size and vibrant coloring compared to standard GashaPortraits releases. Beyond the meticulously sculpted EVA pilot suit, collectors can choose between two distinct versions: Asuka A, featuring a matte finish and solid hair, and Asuka B, which showcases translucent hair with a subtle gradient effect. Both figures also feature unique facial expressions and poses, each exuding a different charm, and come with their own dedicated display bases.
