Collectors might recall our earlier coverage of the incredible Vincent van Gogh-themed creation designed by Hong Kong LEGO fan Truman Cheng (@legotruman) that garnered 10,000 votes on the LEGO IDEAS platform. After the official announcement of its commercialization here, LEGO finally unveiled the product details for the "21333 Vincent van Gogh - The Starry Night" set yesterday (the 17th)! It's slated for release on June 1, 2022.
This set features a total of 2,316 parts. Once assembled, the LEGO model forms a painting-like display, measuring approximately 28 cm tall and 38 cm long. Overall, the biggest difference between the official product and the original design, after LEGO's modifications, is the inclusion of a frame. This enhances its artistic painting aesthetic while retaining its distinct LEGO toy characteristics. The depiction of the painting itself, originally crafted by the designer based on the famous artwork, remains largely unchanged in the commercialized version. However, official changes include more detailed printed elements replacing the original square outlines for the stars, brighter cypress tree hues, and a more rounded, swirling nebula design.

Furthermore, the "21333 Vincent van Gogh - The Starry Night" set also includes a Vincent van Gogh LEGO minifigure, along with an easel, a miniature "The Starry Night" painting, a palette, and paintbrush parts. The model itself features an adjustable display stand, allowing the Van Gogh minifigure to be posed alongside the "Starry Night" artwork. With its wall-mountable design, this set is truly a must-have for collectors!
