Today, TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, announced the latest addition to its robot action figure line, the 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series. The 'Gundam Ez-8' from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team" is slated for release in November 2022.
The RX-79[G]Ez-8 Gundam Ez8 is a mobile suit famously piloted by protagonist Shiro Amada, rebuilt from a battle-damaged Ground Type Gundam. It was repaired using parts from a Ground Type GM and local scrap, with improvements based on operational experience with the Ground Type Gundam. These enhancements include the removal of the easily damaged blade antenna on the head and the adoption of simpler, lighter armor for easier maintenance. In addition to its fixed Vulcan Cannons, the Ez8 can also utilize standard armaments from the Ground Type Gundam and Ground Type GM, such as Beam Rifles, Machine Guns, and Cannons.
The 'ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Ez-8 ver. A.N.I.M.E.' meticulously recreates the suit's refined and functionally beautiful armor design. Its flexible articulation, achieved through double and pull-out joints, allows for natural poses such as holding a rifle or kneeling. The chest armor also features an opening gimmick, revealing the internal Vulcan Cannon structure.
Armament accessories include a 100mm Machine Gun, Beam Rifle, Beam Saber, and a Short Shield. However, the most striking feature is the impressively large 'Parachute Pack.' It connects to the shoulders via soft material straps, and its four bottom nozzles can be fitted with jet effect parts to recreate dynamic landing scenes!
