BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, based in Japan, has announced the latest product from their 'GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE' series – a line of alloy and ABS finished products supervised by popular mechanical designer Katoki Hajime. The "RX-78-02 Gundam [Cucuruz Doan's Island]", originating from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island", is scheduled for release in November 2022.
The "G.F.F.M.C. RX-78-02 Gundam [Cucuruz Doan's Island]" is a modification based on the previously released ORIGIN version. It features newly sculpted parts to recreate the head design with wider red sections below the eyes, a backpack equipped with two main thrusters, and interchangeable chest armor parts on both sides to replicate the movie poster design drawn by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. The overall paint scheme has also been adjusted to brighter blue, red, and yellow tones to match its appearance in the film, and the full body markings are faithfully reproduced.
The articulation specifications are fundamentally the same as the previous ORIGIN version. Areas such as the elbows, hips, knees, and ankles are crafted from highly durable and weighty alloy materials. The entire body features intricate armor segmentation and interlocking mechanisms, while the shoulder joints boast a flexible pull-out design, allowing for the dynamic combat poses seen in the film, such as wielding the beam saber.
For weaponry, it includes a beam rifle, two beam sabers, a Hyper Bazooka, and a shield. Additionally, it comes with shoulder armor parts to recreate the early production model, and a Core Fighter that can be stored within the torso.
