KOTOBUKIYA, a Japanese model manufacturer, officially announced today (08) the long-awaited second collaboration product from the popular plastic model series 'Megami Device', which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly articulated bishoujo bodies. The 'Angel-Type Arnval' is scheduled for release in November 2022.
The most iconic character from the 'Busou Shinki' series, 'Angel-Type Arnval', had its prototype in Megami Device form first revealed in 2017. Over the years, various supervised designs were intermittently released, but an official announcement remained elusive until today, approximately five years later, when it finally made its grand debut. This product is based on the design drawn by illustrator Fumikane Shimada, reinterpreted with the latest modern plastic model technology. Masaki Apsy, who designed the body for both the original and this new version, has completely revamped the MMS body into the Machineca body, offering superior physique and articulation.
The 'Megami Device Angel-Type Arnval', utilizing the exclusive Machineca body, can be freely customized with 3mm parts common to the Megami Device series. It also pays homage to the original MMS body by reproducing designs such as pull-out hip joints and single-axis knee joints, allowing for lively and adorable poses like the 'seiza' (kneeling) position. It also includes 3 pre-printed face parts designed by the renowned decal artist Amema.
By swapping in the armored head, hands, and feet, along with the massive wings, boosters, rifle, and other parts, the cool armed mode can be recreated. Despite its seemingly heavy appearance, it still boasts abundant articulation mechanisms and 3mm expansion ports, allowing for dynamic battle scenes with weapons like beam sabers and dual pistols, or customization using 3mm parts from Kotobukiya's Megami Device, Frame Arms Girl, Sousai Shojo Teien, and other series.
Furthermore, in response to years of anticipation from fans, Kotobukiya will include a set of φ3.3mm BONUS parts, featuring a neck joint, wrist parts, and full-body connection parts, among other rich accessories. These parts are compatible with the specifications of the original 'Busou Shinki' figures sold years ago, allowing for self-modification and expansion. Moreover, the 'CSC' jewel core, a setting from the game version, has been made three-dimensional for the first time. By swapping parts, two internal structures can be recreated after removing the chest armor!
