As the theatrical film "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" premiered in Japan, BANDAI Spirits' popular S.H.Figuarts series also unveiled new additions: "Gamma 1" and "S.H.Figuarts Gamma 2" action figures. The suggested retail price is 7,700 JPY, with an estimated release in January 2023.
The 21st theatrical film in the Dragon Ball series, "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero," is the second animated movie in the "Dragon Ball Super" saga. Original creator Akira Toriyama was responsible for the screenplay and participated in details including the story, character designs, and dialogue. The plot tells of the Red Ribbon Army, defeated by Son Goku, making a comeback under the name "New Red Ribbon Army." Genius scientist Dr. Hedo (Dr.ヘド) created androids who call themselves superheroes, "Gamma 1" and "Gamma 2," who then confront Son Gohan and his mentor Piccolo!
The "S.H.Figuarts Gamma 2" action figure stands approximately 145 mm tall, faithfully recreating the appearance of the superhero android Gamma 2 as seen in "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero." It perfectly captures his distinctive iron-gray facial contours, the yellow battle suit with a prominent "2" on the chest, and the blue cape. It comes with his signature carefree smiling face, along with multiple interchangeable expression parts such as a battle cry, gritted teeth, and a serious face. Paired with four sets of interchangeable left and right hand gestures and a blue weapon gun, fans can recreate various scenes from the film!
