BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s Collectors Toy Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, announced today that to commemorate the highly popular die-cast finished product 『METAL BUILD』 series, two limited-edition products from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", "Launcher Striker Pack -METAL BUILD 10th Ver.-" and "Sword Striker Pack -METAL BUILD 10th Ver.-", will be available for sale starting August 23, 2022, at their official flagship store 『TAMASHII NATIONS TOKYO』.
Both products are commemorative items for the 10th anniversary of the METAL BUILD series. The outer packaging will feature special packaging printed with "METAL BUILD 10th Anniversary" text, similar to the previously released Strike Gundam / Aile Striker Pack METAL BUILD 10th Ver.. However, the contents, including paint colors, body markings, and other designs, are identical to the regular version sold at Tamashii Web Shop in 2020, essentially making this a re-release.
"METAL BUILD Launcher Striker Pack" is crafted in the series' signature style, featuring high-density detailed structures and a substantial feel composed of rich colors, while also incorporating original METAL BUILD mechanisms for a fresh interpretation. The main weapon, the 320mm Super High-Impulse Cannon "Agni", faithfully reproduces the detachable battery at its rear and includes an original firing mode, allowing the barrel to extend and the surrounding structures to deploy. It can even mount two "Agni" cannons on the backpack simultaneously. The product also includes a "Striker Pack Display Stand", which can be connected to the separately sold METAL BUILD Aile Strike Gundam, METAL BUILD Strike Gundam, or METAL BUILD Sword Striker Pack dedicated stand, allowing for simultaneous display of the "Aile", "Sword", and "Launcher" Striker Packs.
"METAL BUILD Sword Striker Pack" features a reinterpreted design by the team of Yoichi Sakamoto, koma, Hiroyuki Hirose, and Masahiro Ishikawa, creating high-density details in the METAL BUILD series style. It reproduces the deployment mechanism of the "Schwert Gewehr" blade, and the backpack battery and beam boomerang can be detached for use with beam effect parts. The rocket anchor on the left arm can be connected with a metal wire to recreate its deployed state. The backpack can also simultaneously carry two 15.78m anti-ship swords "Schwert Gewehr", forming a silhouette different from the original design. The product also includes a "Striker Pack Display Stand", which can be connected to the separately sold METAL BUILD Aile Strike Gundam or METAL BUILD Strike Gundam, and METAL BUILD Launcher Striker Pack dedicated stand, allowing for simultaneous display of the "Aile", "Sword", and "Launcher" Striker Packs.
