Nendoroid Kakegurui xx Saotome Meari: Housepet Tag and Despairing Face-Art Cutely Recreated!

Japan's GOODSMILECOMPANY, under its "Nendoroid" line of over a thousand types of articulated figures, will release a new product from the TV anime "Kakegurui xx", the "Nendoroid Saotome Meari", with a suggested retail price of 6,700 JPY, scheduled for release in March 2023~

The Japanese manga series "Kakegurui" (賭ケグルイ), with original work by Homura Kawamoto and art by Tōru Naomura, is set in Hyakkaou Private Academy, an elite school where everything is decided by "gambling". All students rely on "gambling" to vie for status, and there is a student council that specifically manages the school's casino. Not only do students need to pay "donations" to the student council, but there's also a ranking system where bankruptcy means becoming a "housepet". The intense, crazed laughter and twisted expressions of the high school girls as they fall into the abyss of gambling have earned this work the reputation of a "face-breaking masterpiece".

Saotome Meari (さおとめめあり), with her golden twin-tails, possesses extremely high self-esteem and is very intelligent, making her one of the few special scholarship students who receive preferential treatment due to her excellent grades. Originally a central figure in her class, she became a housepet after losing a "Voting Rock-Paper-Scissors" game against Yumeko. However, as the story progresses, the two become friends who help each other, and she develops feelings for the protagonist Ryota, who is so honest he's almost foolish.

The "Nendoroid Saotome Meari" articulated figure stands approximately 10 cm tall. It cutely recreates Meari's golden eyes and twin-tail hairstyle in Nendoroid style, dressed in the Hyakkaou Private Academy uniform, with her adorable legs peeking out from beneath the finely detailed houndstooth pleated skirt~ It includes four interchangeable face plates: an arrogant "victorious smile", a tsundere "blushing face", a "despairing face" showcasing her face-art, and an ecstatic "elated face". Combined with interchangeable hand parts and the "Housepet Tag" accessory, you can recreate various scenes from the series!
