BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, based in Japan, recently announced the latest product from the 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed action figures, the '08th MS Team Expansion Parts Set 03 ver. A.N.I.M.E.', originating from 'Mobile Suit Gundam The 08th MS Team', scheduled for release in November 2022.
This third installment is themed around numerous classic scenes from Episode 10 of 'Mobile Suit Gundam The 08th MS Team'. The product includes a Jet Core Booster, a large guided bomb, and battle-damaged effects for the Gundam Ez-8, Mass Production Type Guntank, and Gouf Custom, among other rich parts. These can be combined with separately sold Mobile Suits to recreate the intense battle scenes that unfolded in Kiki's secret mountain base during the latter half of the series!
The Jet Core Booster faithfully recreates its sleek and refined design. The transparent cockpit canopy can be opened, and landing gear deployment parts can be attached to the bottom. It also includes a large guided bomb that can be suspended beneath the fuselage and a bomb explosion effect, allowing for the recreation of the scene where the secret base is bombed. Furthermore, the wings can be swapped with shattered effect parts to recreate the scene where it is shot down by Norris Packard's Gouf Custom.
The various MS battle-damaged effect parts can be used with the separately sold Gundam Ez-8, Mass Production Type Guntank, and Gouf Custom. These include the 'Mass Production Type Guntank Head Explosion Effect' to recreate the Guntank being attacked from above by the Gouf Custom, the 'Gundam Ez-8 Damaged Left Arm Effect' for the scene where the Gundam Ez-8 tears off its malfunctioning left arm to use as a blunt weapon, and the 'Gouf Custom Abdomen Damage Effect / Vulcan Cannon Firing Effect' to recreate the classic showdown where Norris, even in his final moments after being bisected by Shiro, still manages to shoot down the last Mass Production Type Guntank behind him, completing his mission. However, it would have been even more perfect if a figure of Shiro saluting Norris had been included!
These effect parts can also be shared with other 'ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series products to create even more realistic war scenes.
