Good Smile Company's popular and best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) toy series is set to release a Nendoroid figure of the protagonist ninja, "Tsubaki" (ツバキ), from the currently serialized slice-of-life youth manga series "In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki" (くノ一ツバキの胸の内)! It is scheduled for release in December 2022.
"In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki" is a work created by manga artist Soichiro Yamamoto, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in January 2018, and its TV anime adaptation started airing on April 9, 2022. The story primarily revolves around a group of female ninjas living deep in the mountains. The protagonist, Tsubaki, is the leader of one of the squads. Since childhood, she has been warned that "boys" are extremely dangerous beings, to be avoided and never discussed. However, one day, Hua-sensei, the matriarch, accidentally revealed the truth: boys are not scary at all. This revelation deeply shook Tsubaki, who began to wonder and imagine what "boys" are truly like.
The protagonist of this work, Tsubaki (ツバキ), is the leader of the Akane Squad's Dog Class. She forms a team with Sazanka, Asagao, and later, Rindo. Having grown up and trained in the female ninja village, coupled with Hua-sensei's constant admonitions, Tsubaki has always maintained a distance from the existence of "boys." However, as she grew older and her teacher inadvertently let slip the truth, Tsubaki became increasingly curious about boys, often trying to find ways to gather information related to them. She is highly skilled, excelling in transformation jutsu and clone jutsu, but is quite afraid of ghosts and spirits.
This Nendoroid of Tsubaki faithfully recreates her female ninja outfit from the original work. It comes with three interchangeable face plates: a normal expression, a blushing face, and a flustered face with swirly eyes. As for accessories, it includes a kunai, a standard tool for female ninjas, a scroll containing secret information about boys, and a camellia flower, representing her name. Fans of this series should not miss out!
