GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan recently announced the latest product in its original model kit series, 『Chitocerium』, "LXXVIII platinum 1.5", slated for release in January 2023.
The 『Chitocerium』 series is a bishoujo model kit line jointly produced by GOOD SMILE COMPANY, Japanese illustrator 'huke', and 'Masaki Apsy', the sculptor who designed and developed the figma series joints and the base bodies for "Frame Arms Girl" and "Megami Device". While seemingly similar to the popular "mecha musume" theme currently trending in the industry, its fundamental design is distinctly different, imbued with a rich fantasy style.

In its setting, 『Chitocerium』 is a fantasy realm. The fairy-like beings are called "fragments". Born in Chitocerium, they are its guardians. Though they possess a humanoid appearance, they are not human. Their eyes gleam with a mysterious light, and only those authorized by them are deemed worthy to possess them.
"LXXVIII platinum 1.5" is an upgraded version of the first edition released in 2019, featuring partial improvements. The overall design is essentially the same as the initial release, but some parts have been adjusted for easier assembly. The kit consists of molded parts in colors such as black and white, along with some pre-painted parts. The "fragment" body, designed by Masaki Apsy, boasts a petite 20 cm size yet offers highly flexible articulation, allowing for delicate, doll-like cute poses or elegant, fairy-like armed flight. After stowing its foldable armor, the curled-up body can be fully stored within the beautiful, jewel-box-like hexagonal base. Furthermore, the three interchangeable face parts—normal face, closed-eye smiling face, and smiling face—have also been improved, utilizing UV printing technology for finer details and enhanced durability.
