TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" for its "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS" series, which combines metallic texture paintwork and a die-cast frame: the "Altron Gundam," scheduled for release in April 2023.
The Altron Gundam, which appeared in the TV version of "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing," is a mobile suit secretly enhanced and modified by the five Gundam scientists after Chang Wufei's beloved Shenlong Gundam was captured by OZ. The key focus of the enhancement was to adapt to space combat, with a pair of movable wings equipped with thrusters added to the back to enhance space maneuverability. Both arms can transform into Dragon Fangs, and the flamethrowers were increased from 2 to 4 units. The Beam Glaive was modified into a Twin Beam Trident, significantly boosting its overall firepower.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Altron Gundam (TV)" recreates the cool and refined TV version design with entirely new parts and a partial die-cast frame. The mobile suit stands approximately 14 cm tall and features matte and metallic paintwork to present the heavy metallic texture of its exterior armor. Abundant body markings are also printed to enhance the richness of its details. In terms of weaponry, in addition to the Twin Dragon Shield mounted on its left shoulder, its signature Twin Beam Trident also comes with two different beam effect parts for versatile display. Combined with its flexible movable joints, you can pose it in cool battle stances wielding the trident.
Not only do the main joints offer flexible articulation, but areas with movable mechanisms hidden in its design are also thoroughly reproduced. The twin wings on its back can be widely deployed, and the tail-shaped Beam Cannon features multi-directional articulation, allowing it to be turned forward to recreate firing poses. Furthermore, the "Dragon Fangs," the distinctive weapon inherited from the Shenlong Gundam on both arms, can be extended in three stages using interchangeable parts, and combined with clear stands, you can display powerful scenes of both arms extending simultaneously!
