Megahouse, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product from its palm-sized chibi figure series 'LOOKUP': "Tokai Teio" from the popular series "Uma Musume Pretty Derby", slated for release in May 2023.
Tokai Teio (トウカイテイオー), the highly popular Uma Musume who starred as the protagonist in the second season of the anime, is based on the real-life Japanese racehorse of the same name, known as the "Miracle Horse" in the early 1990s. After her debut, she immediately achieved an undefeated double crown, but due to multiple bone fractures, she tragically missed out on the Triple Crown and two Tenno Sho races. From then on, despite repeated losses and injuries, she continued to challenge herself after recovery. Finally, after more than a year of recuperation and against all odds, she made a miraculous comeback at the Arima Kinen, surpassing the favored horse Biwa Hayahide to win the race, thus writing a legendary chapter in history.
"LOOKUP Tokai Teio" brings Teio, dressed in her Tracen Academy uniform, to life in the series' signature chibi sitting pose. True to the 'LOOK UP' series name, she features an adorably soft-looking face, gazing upwards. Her neck is equipped with a movable joint, allowing for slight left-right and up-down adjustments. You can hold this animal-like Teio in your palm, letting her expectant, innocent expression meet your gaze. No matter how busy your work gets, a glance into Teio's eyes might just bring immense comfort!
Concurrently, the LOOKUP series also features Mejiro McQueen, another Uma Musume who is both Teio's rival and close friend in the anime. Displaying her alongside Teio offers double the healing power!
