LEGO recently officially unveiled the latest product from the animated series "Lego Monkie Kid", the "80045 Monkey King Ultra Mech"! It is scheduled for release on January 1, 2023.
This "Monkey King Ultra Mech," boasting 1705 pieces and standing 39 cm tall when assembled, has 76 more pieces than the "80012 Monkey King Golden Mech" (1629 pieces) released in 2020. However, its appearance exudes an even stronger sense of heft, equipped with massive blade weapons on both sides of its waist and on its right forearm, coupled with the Golden Staff it wields, making it incredibly imposing! The overall color scheme is predominantly gold and red, accented with teal elements throughout, giving it a magnificent look. Following the design of its predecessor, it also incorporates soft composite materials. While its eyes feature light bricks that enhance its presence when lit, the editor personally finds the head sculpt of the 80012 model to be cooler.

In terms of playability, beyond the mech's articulation and the opening cockpit, the back thrusters and weapon components can be detached to form a cool single-seater flyer! There are 6 minifigures included: Monkie Kid, Monkey King, Yellow Tusk Elephant, The Golden-Winged Eagle, Azure Lion, and Mr. Tang.
