The "BUZZmod." 1/12 scale action figure series, launched by Japan's ANIPLEX company, has announced its latest product, "Kamina," scheduled for release in July 2023, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the hot-blooded mecha anime Gurren Lagann.
Kamina, like the protagonist Simon, hails from "Giha Village" in the underground world. Although he was a troublemaker who often caused incidents in the village, his passion and ambition for the surface world were stronger than anyone else's, unwilling to be trapped underground for life. Kamina's personality was one of absolute trust in his comrades, never abandoning the weak, and believing that any difficulty could be overcome with "guts" or "spirit." He led Simon as an older brother to explore the unknown surface world and commanded Team Gurren as a leader against the Beastman army. Even though he died a heroic death early in the series, his beliefs profoundly influenced the future growth of Simon, Yoko, and the rest of Team Gurren.
The "BUZZmod. Kamina" figure has been thoroughly supervised by members of the anime production team, recreating Kamina's muscular physique, upper body tattoo patterns, costume design, and other settings from the anime with articulated specifications. He can be adorned with the flame-like Team Gurren cape, which is made from fabric material with embedded metal wire, allowing its shape to be adjusted according to the figure's movements. The flexible articulated joint design allows for posing him in cool actions from the anime.
Accessories include 5 interchangeable face parts, various sculpted hand parts, and the katana snatched from the Giha Village chief. These allow for recreating his usual confident and composed expression, his blood-splattered fighting stance, pointing to the sky and shouting "Pierce the heavens with your drill!" and other hot-blooded iconic scenes!
