Design COCO, a renowned Japanese company specializing in anime and manga life-size statues, has unveiled the "Lum & Ten BOX cafe & space Collaboration 1/1 Life-Size Figure" based on the classic remastered anime "Urusei Yatsura." Priced at 5,800,000 JPY, this is a global one-of-a-kind limited edition, available for lottery sale on the COCO Store online shop!
Veteran Japanese manga artist Rumiko Takahashi's first long-running serialized manga, "Urusei Yatsura" (formerly known as "Lum the Invader Girl" in Taiwan), begins with the alien oni girl Lum invading Japan and attempting to conquer Earth. The lecherous, perpetually unlucky boy Ataru Moroboshi is forced to take on the monumental task of saving Earth, engaging in a game of tag with Lum! Due to a series of misunderstandings, Lum becomes infatuated with Ataru, who unexpectedly wins, thus beginning their hilarious and absurd romantic comedy. To commemorate Shogakukan's 100th anniversary, the work was re-animated for television after 36 years, with a remastered version of "Urusei Yatsura" released in 2022.
The "Lum & Ten BOX cafe & space Collaboration 1/1 Life-Size Figure" is based on official illustrations and meticulously recreated in a grand, life-size scale by Design COCO's skilled artisans! Standing approximately 1,430mm tall (including the base), thorough adjustments were made to the facial expression and overall details to achieve a perfect 1/1 balance, meticulously sculpting Lum's slightly mischievous smile and soft skin texture. The main material is FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic), reinforced with a steel frame; the specially designed base allows Lum and Ten to be displayed in a dynamic, light, and ethereal pose!
