Japan's official Mobile Suit Gundam Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has announced its first limited-edition product for 2023: the 'MG 1/100 Gundam Kyrios [Clear Color]' from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, which will be available for sale starting January 14th.
The GN-003 Gundam Kyrios is one of the third-generation Gundam mobile suits manufactured by the private armed organization 'Celestial Being'. Its pilot is the augmented human Allelujah Haptism, who originated from the Super Soldier Organ. This unit is specialized for hit-and-run tactics and preemptive strikes, capable of transforming from MS mode into a high-speed flight cruise mode. It possesses superior GN particle control capabilities and mobility, equipped with a GN Beam Submachine Gun, GN Beam Sabers, a GN Shield that can deploy high-frequency vibration needles, and a tail unit loaded with numerous anti-air/anti-ground GN Missiles, among other armaments.
The 'MG 1/100 Gundam Kyrios [Clear Color]' is based on the regular release kit from 2020. Through precise part separation and color molding, it thoroughly reproduces the streamlined design and transformation mechanism created by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase. It includes a GN Beam Submachine Gun, wrist GN Missile units x2, GN Beam Sabers x2, a wireless grip that can connect to missile units or the submachine gun, and a GN Shield that can deploy high-frequency vibration needles. It also features a partially newly designed transformable GN frame. By transforming the frame and armor, it can reproduce its fighter-like MA form, allowing for various combat poses.
For the part molding colors, the exterior armor has been replaced with clear white, clear yellow, and clear orange parts. The frame and armament parts are molded in a gunmetal color with a metallic particle feel and luster. Once assembled, not only will the intricate internal frame structure be visible, but the striking clear orange armor, paired with a dark background, will also reflect a beautiful, highly sci-fi glow. When illuminated with a blacklight in the dark, the orange and white armor, along with the beam saber effects, will produce a luminous effect, showcasing a style distinct from regular Gunpla.
