Japan's Fukuoka "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed facility GUNDAM SIDE-F, home to the immensely popular life-sized ν Gundam statue, recently announced that its latest in-store exclusive product, the "HG 1/144 Geara Doga (Vincent Gleissner's Custom Machine)", will go on sale starting January 21, 2023.
This AMS-119 Geara Doga is the mobile suit piloted by ace pilot Vincent Gleissner, who served as the second-generation captain of the Principality of Zeon's special forces unit "Marchosias Team" in the game "Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link". After the One Year War, he successively joined Haman's Neo Zeon army and Char's reformed Neo Zeon army, continuing to fight for 10 years. In Universal Century 0090, Vincent piloted this pre-production type Geara Doga, and together with Chloe, the former pilot of the Pale Rider, and his father Travis, they persuaded and rescued their old comrade-in-arms Anneliese, who was with Glemmy's remnant forces. After realizing the futility of revenge, they reconciled. Vincent and Chloe, who had once faced each other in battle and killed each other's comrades, later married and had a child, signifying that the victims of war no longer needed to fight.
The "HG 1/144 Geara Doga (Vincent Gleissner's Custom Machine)" is based on the general release kit from 2008. The parts' molding colors have been replaced with the azure scheme representing Vincent Gleissner. Not only are the parts reused, but even the box art has been recolored and re-edited from the 2008 version, showcasing highly mature resource reuse techniques. Nevertheless, the kit's sculpt and articulation are quite excellent. Weapon accessories include a commander-type beam rifle, beam saber, beam axe, and a shield that stores four "Sturm Faust" grenade launchers internally, also reproducing the movable mechanism in the middle section of the shield.
