Premium Collectibles Studio (PCS), an American sculpting brand adept at showcasing character charm through large-scale statues, has announced its latest product from the 2000 thriller film "American Psycho": the "Patrick Bateman" 1/4 scale full body statue! Regular, Deluxe, and Bloody versions will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date of September to November 2023.
"American Psycho" is a thriller film directed by Mary Harron, adapted from the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. The story's protagonist is Patrick Bateman (portrayed by Christian Bale), a Wall Street elite who possesses a handsome face, a fit physique, and an enviable material life. However, he is also an insatiable, intensely jealous, and pathologically murderous psychopath immersed in a sense of superiority. The numerous seemingly absurd yet highly convincing monologues, along with the film's rich black humor and satirical elements, make it a timeless classic worth rewatching.
This piece stands approximately 22.5 inches (about 57 cm) tall. The overall design features Patrick Bateman in a standing pose, holding an axe with both hands, dressed in an expensive suit that highlights his status. His deeply furrowed brow not only conveys the tension of a burgeoning murderous impulse, but the combination of the suit and axe also creates a sense of conflict. The base is also very distinctive, featuring three-dimensional reliefs of various classic moments from Patrick Bateman in the film. The Deluxe version additionally includes the transparent raincoat he wore when preparing to kill Paul Allen, as well as a maniacally laughing head sculpt that clearly reveals his madness. The Bloody version features blood-splattered paintwork on both the head sculpt and raincoat, and comes with a blood-splattered, maniacally laughing head sculpt.
