Japanese model maker Kaiyodo (KAIYODO) has officially announced the first product in its large-scale biological art statue series, 'NATURE TALES,' featuring "Orca and Sea Lion," slated for release in September 2023. This item will be limited to a global production of only 300 units.

The brand-new series, 'Nature Tales,' is developed by a team led by Shinobu Matsumura, Kaiyodo's foremost biological sculptor. Based on Matsumura's past sculpted works, these pieces are newly created using digital sculpting techniques, incorporating a wide variety of Earth's creatures as their creative theme. They sculpt the elegant postures of these organisms with delicate and vivid artistic skill. The base features a round pedestal carved from solid wood and a golden nameplate. Each product also includes cotton gloves to prevent fingerprints, the artist's signature, and a numbered certificate, showcasing immense collectible and educational value.

The "NATURE TALES Orca and Sea Lion" is replicated using POLYSTONE material, which allows for a significant reproduction of the original prototype's details, boasting a large size with a total height of approximately 42 cm. The sculpture depicts a massive male orca hunting a sea lion, while the small and agile sea lion dives into the blind spot of a reef to evade the orca's pursuit. Both animals feature lifelike sculpting, with color applications reproducing the orca's S-shaped markings on its back and the sea lion's soulful eyes. Even details typically overlooked, such as the orca's genital slit on its belly and the sea lion's ears on both sides of its head, are thoroughly recreated!
