BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the latest product from its popular alloy toy series 'METAL BUILD', the 'Divine Striker Pack (ALTERNATIVE STRIKE Ver.)' from 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY', scheduled for release in August 2023.
The AQM/E-X05 Divine Striker Pack was originally an enhanced backpack added to the Covenant Gundam after it was captured by the Earth Alliance. In addition to serving as a flight unit to boost mobility, it also possessed the combat capability to transform into a massive claw. This version, released under the 'ALTERNATIVE STRIKE' project, is set as the Divine Striker Pack redesigned by Kate Madigan. Not only has its appearance become more exaggerated, but its overall performance has also been enhanced, and an original standalone flight form has been added. Furthermore, the pack's versatility has been greatly improved, allowing it to be used not only with the Covenant Gundam but also with Strike Gundam and Astray Gundam series mobile suits.
The 'METAL BUILD Divine Striker Pack (ALTERNATIVE STRIKE Ver.)' product includes the Divine Striker Pack main unit, the 'Trikeros Kai' assault shield system, Kate Madigan's custom composite gun, and a beam pistol, totaling four armaments. Continuing the style of the METAL BUILD Gundam SEED series, the design has been reinterpreted by mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu, incorporating features of the Astray Gold Frame Amatsu. It boasts high-density, mechanical detailing, a heavy, metallic-colored finish, and numerous original body markings printed on the armor surface.
The Divine Striker Pack faithfully recreates its transformative mechanism from the original setting. Normally, it attaches to the back as a wing-shaped flight unit. When combat requires, the entire pack can unfold and transform into a massive claw, nearly the size of the mobile suit itself. The 'Trikeros Kai' assault shield system, despite sharing its name with equipment from the Astray Gold Frame Amatsu, is an entirely different armament. Its three front claws feature movable joints, and it can store Kate Madigan's custom composite gun and beam pistol internally. By combining the Divine Striker Pack with the Trikeros Kai, an original METAL BUILD standalone flight form can be assembled!
The accessories include two types of backpack connection parts: one for the Strike Gundam series and one for the Astray Gundam series, allowing it to be equipped with separately sold items such as the Strike Gundam, Strike Noir, Astray Red Frame, Blue Frame, Gold Frame, and more. Additionally, there is a special shoulder connection part exclusively for the Strike Gundam, enabling the Divine Striker Pack to be mounted on a single shoulder of the Strike Gundam, creating a cool, cape-like appearance.
