The 'MODEROID' model kit series, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, recently announced its latest product, "Galvion," from the classic robot anime "Super High-Speed Galvion," scheduled for release in November 2023.
"Super High-Speed Galvion" is a Japanese robot anime that aired in 1984. The story depicts Earth's rapid technological development after acquiring alien technology, which, however, also triggered World War III. Fearing humanity's potential for external aggression, the aliens erected a barrier to seal off Earth. During the brief post-war peace, human transportation networks spread globally, and a mysterious organization, "SHADO," emerged, seeking to dominate humanity. A private police force, offering pardons as a condition, recruited two convicts, Muu and Maya, to pilot the cutting-edge combat robot "Galvion" and fight against SHADO.
The "MODEROID Galvion" kit is composed of multi-colored molded parts, pre-painted parts, and stickers, allowing for a close approximation of its in-show appearance even in a straight build. Once completed, Galvion stands approximately 17 cm tall, with articulated joints that allow for dynamic posing with its 20mm pistol, shield, and other armaments. The shoulder-mounted micro-missiles also feature opening hatch mechanisms.
The leg's hover-walking mode can be recreated through the deployment mechanisms of the air nozzles and rear wings, along with interchangeable parts. In addition to the humanoid robot's "Road Warrior" form, the impressive supercar form "Circus 1" and the intermediate transformation form "Road Attacker" from the show can also be recreated by swapping out certain parts!
