Japanese toy and sundry goods manufacturer Takara Tomy Arts announced the release of their latest capsule toy, "Sanrio Characters Funyumal Style Figures," featuring the Sanrio Characters family, which was launched in late March 2023.
The design of this product is based on the immensely popular and squishy "FUNYUMARU" series, which received great acclaim after its announcement last year and led to collaborative cafes in multiple Japanese cities. This series depicts familiar Sanrio stars such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pompompurin in a round, Easter egg-like, melted and squishy pose, as if lounging on the ground, looking super CHILL and adorable!
This time, T-ARTS is also releasing this highly popular series as figures for the first time! The "Sanrio Characters Funyumal Style Figures" gashapon collection includes five Sanrio stars: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Bad Badtz-Maru, and Tuxedosam. Each item is three-dimensionalized based on the FUNYUMARU version illustrations, at a size of approximately 4 cm. They are exquisitely crafted with round, sprawling bodies and squishy-looking cheek designs, perfectly capturing a world-weary yet lazy vibe – absolutely adorable!
