First showcased as a supervised gray prototype at last year's '19th Taipei Toy Festival (TTF2022)', the 'EVANGELION Unit-01' soft vinyl toy, crafted by Hong Kong toy design brand MechNoiz Toys, has finally been officially unveiled, generating immense anticipation!
As one of Hideaki Anno's iconic symbols from "Neon Genesis Evangelion", "EVA Unit-01" is undoubtedly a prime collecting target for many toy enthusiasts. From gashapon figures, Ichiban Kuji statues, model kits, and action figures, to the high-end collectible METAL BUILD series of finished action figures, everyone can find their favorite version of Unit-01. The recently popular Unit-01 Light-Up EasyCard is an excellent peripheral item!
Classic Unit-01 soft vinyl toys are also abundant, such as Kaiyodo's MEGA SOFUBI ADVANCE Unit-01 and MEDICOM TOY's Project 1/6 Unit-01, all of which hold significant collector's value. The Unit-01 crafted by Japanese designer Dehara is an especially unique and exquisite piece.
But I digress. Let's return to the Unit-01 released by MechNoiz Toys. From the exhibits unveiled at TTF2022, one could already appreciate its charming low-proportioned appeal, with a relatively more prominent upper body and striking shoulders. Now, the painted version showcases rich color tones and a beautiful glossy finish. Standing at 11 inches (27.9 cm) tall, it features 7 points of articulation and comes with a Progressive Knife.
